Slightly cloudy, can't seem to find why

I started the season late, drain and fill due to new tile that I installed. Everything looks great, but the water is just slightly cloudy - i can see the main drain fine, but it just isn't crystal clear.

My fill water is always high alkalinity so i spend every year working to get TA down, and I am making progress. Latest numbers are:

PH 7.6
Free Cl 10 ppm
TA 130
CH 250
Cya 60
SWG

Yes the chlorine is high as I thought my CYA was closer to 100 - have a terrible time reading the taylor kit - does the dot have to get hidden? what does just disappear meant, etc. So I got the larger Blue Devil test/kit and it tells me 60. I added CYA when i opened the pool, and the math told me that it should be around 70 - but my pool is not a solid rectangle so I have always taken a swag at water volume (20-22K gals - 16 x 32 with some bumps and 3.5 to 6.5 feet deep) - the blue devil test matches the pounds i added.

Anyway, the chlorine level has been stable, and I need to bring it down some, but every year i run it at 5-6 and wind up dealing with having to SLAM it, so i shocked it when opening and lowered SWG to 50% to maintain.

Any suggestions on what to check next? CC shows zero, so to me that indicates i don't have to do an overnight test.

I would still do an overnight test. Cloudy usually means an impending bloom. I believe I read that 0cc does not necessarily mean no algae. Varied CYA readings are a bit of a concern due to not knowing for sure how high to run FC. Will watch to see what an expert says. :)

They will want to know more about your pool and equipment. Putting that information in your signature helps them and easier for you not to have to repeat on every post. Settings then signature to fill it out from the main menu.

I will have to add it to my signature - good point - cloudiness has been consistent for a week - i had also dumped in a gallon of chlorine a week ago to raise the PPM a bit, but no effect on water quality. It hasn't got better or worse.

Gunite/plaster pool. SWG, Hayward cartridge filter (4 - forget model), Paramount pool cleaner system. Hayward T-cell-15.

I did the overnight test, and i dropped from 9.5 to 7 PPM to i guess something is living in there. I will have to SLAM it - wish i knew how it happens when it never went below 7ppm this year so far.

Could be:
Poor circulation, dead spot where CL not mixing well. I tested several areas so now I test where generally FC is lowest.

Niches, stairs, lights that allow hidden growth or hard to brush.

Loose plaster anywhere, algae behind it?

I have an in floor/wall pool cleaner, so mixing can't be it. And the heads clean stairs so shouldn't be that.

Pool was drained for a month while tile was replaced and shocked with new water.

Oh well
