Hello TFP!

After talking to a few PB's in my Area (Gilbert AZ) I have been less than impressed, we think we want to Owner Build but am not sure about navigating the OB process without guidance, so BYOP sounds like it's just what we need.

My question to you guys is how was your experience using BYOP? - I have searched but most threads are incomplete

I know a lot depends on who you worked with, so if you had a good experience who do you recommend? Who did you have a bad experience with?

Does anyone recommend anyone else that is similar to BYOP?

We are closing on a new construction home in late September and want to start digging right away, the entire backyard will need to be landscaped as well so i was thinking of going with BYOP's $2500 package.

Thanks!

Totally doable if you can find the subs!

I am in the middle stages with BYOP, i am less then impressed. They have many internal issues with communication and timing.
Thank you for chiming in!

I'm starting to lean on just doing it entirely on my own, if I pay for someones help I want to know my money was well spent...that's actually the main reason I canceled on one of the PB's...they were just really slow to respond to revision requests.

My only thing is finding the Subs on my own, if someone could provide me a list of Subs in my area I would pay a little just for that.

Not answering your question, but before you give up on builders, call Marc Ballard at No Limit Pools. Tell him Eric from Mountain Bridge sent you. He’s good and gets in and out quick. I was six weeks permit to swim and that was high season.

Can you tell us your experience with How to build your own pool . I'm getting ready to consider them for my new pool (OB). The guy seems to be willing to help out during the project.

Hey sorry for late response...

Overall he was helpful. Was able to call him for questions that arose during the whole process through all the phases. He gives you a booklet that goes into detail on each phase and basics to look out for. He also spends time going over the design and sends you the plans, engineering and pdf of the plans. The subs list is a pretty big deal imo and I'm not sure he has a list for your location. Even for me I had to find some of my own subs and I'm only a few hours away.

You can probably get all the info you need from TFP but if this is your first build I think it's good to have the support if nothing else.

Let me know if you have any more specific questions I would be glad to help.
