Switch from Slider to Multiport Valve

I'm kinda tired of the slider valve and not being able to "truly" vacuum to waste. So I want to see if anyone had thoughts or experiences and recommendations for a Valve type to put on a Stainless Steel Pentair NSP 36 D.E. Chlorine filter. I have one skimmer, one pump, 2 returns with a 3rd that's capped off, used to be for a polaris. and an inline Chlorinator.

I prefer the multi-port. Although at this point I hardly ever have a need to change it as I really do not backwash anymore and tear down the filter when it is dirty.
It does add a little more flow restriction, but there is nothing really too bad about that.

Thought I had everything filled out, guess I didn't save. Anyway, Newark, DE. And please point out anything that I'm doing wrong. I started as a swamp 2 weeks ago, after not opening the pool last year due to vacations. After a new set of Grids, new Manifold, 4 days of scooping out, and about 5 days+ of triple shock level and a half bottle of floc, I am crystal clear. I single shocked last night and did some BB shopping(I leave out the bleach) So water balance time. But with the year off I think I'm gonn go back to the Pool school to make sure I remember everything correctly.

I have no idea what triple or single shocking is. We don't do that around here. We follow the SLAM Process process.

Actually I do have something to contribute. That pic in my profile is my pool from earlier this week. Last august is was so green you could barely see in it. Practicing what the pool store taught my FIL years ago eventually lead to this problem. Drop the FLOC, Shock, and other crock. These people will guide you as long as you listen to every word. I read pool school more than once, and I still read it once in a while because it's that good. 7 days I went from dark green to clear. Follow the guidance, you will not regret it. Get yourself the Taylor k2006, or TF-100. and take over your pool ownership and save money in the mean time. I have not added any algaecide this year, like my FIL used to, or clarifier. Literally only liquid chlorine since mid-may. It's been so easy to maintain.
