After a long winter (longest one in recent memory actually) our first pool build has finally broken ground. My family and I couldnt be more excited. We have 3 excited kids between the ages of 10 and 3-1/2 and are looking forward to creating lots of memories in our backyard.

We interviewed about 6 pool builders, but made our decision based from based from a friends recommendation, and the fact that it was a smaller company. I was impressed with the work that they did for my friend and the price for what you get was the most competitive.

We are going with a 16x34 in ground Gemini shaped pool with Hayward equipment.

Here are some of the specs
15900 gal
Hayward SP3202VSP Tristar Pump
300K BTU Heater
2 Colour LED lights
Cartridge Filter
Pro Logic PL-P4
T-CELL-9 25K gal SCG

Here are some pics from the first 2 days.

Needless to say, we are all excited. I've been lurking on this site for months, and have learned so much. Such a great resource.

I'll post more pics as the build progresses.

This is great to see! We're building a pool this summer too (hoping for late-May groundbreaking) and I'm new to this process. Your daily updates are greatly appreciated! I look forward to following along.

Man that is some fast work. I am going to share a set of links I put together for new pool owners. It is a lot of into but it will all start to sink in as you use it:

Print these out:
Pool School - Basic Pool Care Schedule

Pool School - Recommended Levels

Bookmark these:
Pool School - Recommended Pool Chemicals

Pool Math

Pool School - ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry

Make sure to ask any and all questions you might have no matter how small! We have all been where you are at one point.

Make sure to go ahead and see what test kit there will be providing and let us know so we can fill in any holes.

No :( Taylor has a lock down on it. You can to a shop in Canada that has Taylor test kits You want the 2006 or even better 2006. NOT the 2005 as it really does not have enough regents.......Canadian tire??? Is that a place that sells stuff like this?

The most economical way to get a proper test kit is to have either a K2006C or TF100 shipped to a mail drop at the nearest US border crossing from were you live. Then drive over and pick it up.

Good luck.
