So new to the SWG idea, but if we went with the Hayward T-15, what parts/components EXACTLY do we need?? Is there a separate electric box that goes with it too??

I'm not sure what you mean? Pipe? The link I've attached is what we are looking at. I really don't want to spend $1,000 for a SWG!

It says it is for pools up to 18,000 gals. How many gallons does your pool hold? If possible we say to try to over size your SWG to help save the cell replacement BUT that sure is a good price and I like it has the timer inside it.
I hope someone that has this one comes along to say how they like it.

Ours is 19,000 I think. The reviews on Amazon had several that had 20,000 gallon pools and they said they had no trouble with the product and had it for several years. I like the price too!!
This is something where you have to think short term over long term cost. The reviews are good and it is Amazon so they have a great return policy so..............do what you think is best for you at this time in your life then tell me how much you love it!

The rule of thumb is to have a cell that is at least twice the size of your pool, that one is not.
You'll end up running the swg cell almost all the time and will result in needing to be replaced sooner since it will run more often than a properly sized cell. If you run at 100% for just your regular pool maintenance level you won't have any overhead left when you need higher chlorine production. But do what you think is best for you.

While it is true that you should oversize the cell to maximize cell life, the real benefit is pump run time. Remember that an SWG only produce chlorine when the pump is running and it only can create a fixed amount of chlorine per day. So, if the amount of chlorine produced is not sufficient to replace the amount of FC lost every day, you will be running your pump 24x7 and still have to add bleach. That will cost you more in higher utility rates as well as extra chemicals.
While the price of an SWG seems high, you are essentially buying all the chlorine it produces upfront rather than paying for it with each bottle of bleach. The economics of bleach versus SWGs is pretty much a wash - either pay for all you chlorine up front or spread over time.

Great, this answers my question. I have a 15k pool and my Intellichlor 40 looks to be going out and was wondering why I had a 40 vs the 20 installed. I am thinking of replacing with an Ichlor 30, that should work, right? It's 2x the size of the pool.
The bigger your cell the longer it lasts and the less you have to run the pump.........I would got as big as you can get!
