I live in Mt. Airy, MD and have a Loop-loc cover. Anyone else out there and when do you plan on closing. I think I've got at least 2-3 more weeks before I can get that water to stay consistently below 50 degrees.

I closed 2 weeks ago in Cecil County. Didn't want to deal with the leaves this year and the darn things are still on the trees.

Closing next week here in Frederick. taking off the solar cover this weekend, cleaning out the leaves, givign it a good vac, and boosting chlorine. I did not use algecide last year and will not this time around.

Hi rjg202! We must be "neighbors" - we are in Cecil County too.

We will close at the end of October or in early November. Since we don't cover, we scoop leaves off the surface and the bottom until it gets cold, then deal with the rest of them in the spring.

Yes. probably deal with some of the same shops. Only regret closing is I have to drain the water from my cover again. Last year the sun was so strong that the reflection aka death ray off my windows melted the cover. Do you believe that? Now I am thinking of leaving my screens in to diffuse the suns rays.
