It would really help if we had current test results. Here's what we need:

FC - Free Chlorine
CC - Combined Chlorine
pH -
TA - Total Alkalinity
CH - Calcium Hardness
CYA - Cyanuric Acid (stabilizer)
Borates - (if you are using borates)

Welcome to the forum

You're done shocking when:
1)You lose 1ppm or less FC overnight, & 2)You have .5ppm CC's or less, & 3)your water is clear.

Is your pool a newly plastered pool? It would be helpful if you were to put your pool specs in your signature.

I am willing to bet your pool is either painted or newly plastered.

You may want to have a thorough read of pool school (big button on the upper right) to understand that just putting a set amount of chemicals in once a week is not the ideal way to maintain a good body of water that will make your pool last.

I agree with Lershac, but your pool could've elected a new pope.

Could be DE in the pool also. You should post up the specs on your pool along with the test results others have asked for so that you can get the help you're seeking.
