Have you ran the OCLT? If not you should just to rule out any organics.
The iron isn't interfering with the FC. I suspect you have something going and once you run the OCLT we'll know more.

I can try. I only have a test that goes to FC 5 so I think it will be hard to tell. I am not getting a better test kit at the moment so this one will have to do. I will try it though! What do I do if I don't pass it? Shock process?

Without a good test for FC & CC you're going to have a problem. I'd say shock the pool as best you can and see how it goes.
