    Stipid question about gauges

    Yep i'm new to pools.

In all other things in life the pressure gauge reads delivery psi. But it seems that the gauge onthe filter is reading back psi. Is this correct?

Should I assume that the higher psi on the gauge is worse?

    Re: Stipid question about gauges

You are correct. The gauge on the filter is actually on the dirty side of the media, so it reads back pressure caused by the media and rises as it clogs. So yes, higher is worse.

Thanks for the quick reply. I would assume that I should have just the valves to return as much water as possible to the pool by making sure the gauge reads as low as possible
