Hydro Tools vs. Hayward through wall skimmer

I though I saw people having problems with a non Hayward through wall skimmer, but cannot find the post now.

What is the preferred standard size skimmer?

I have a Wayward (I think that's what it's called) Skimmer box only because that's the only box that will fit on my Sharkline. It's a wide mouth and was a real pain (even to this day C6 & C7 plus shoulder pain). Hayward is a great brand and If I were to put one on an Intex, I'd go with the standard and leave the wide mouth out of the equation. I just reinstalled a Hayward on my brother's pool with absolutely no problems.
