I have a sand filter and copper ionization. Trying to empty sand out of filter. Most of it has turned in to hard copper/sand crust around entire inside of filter. Very hard to remove without breaking something. Anything that will dissolve this?
It's possible that you have calcium scaling. You could take some dilute muriatic acid and pour in it and if it fizzes up it may break it up enough to get it out.
Welcome to TFP! Another plug for getting rid of the copper - all it will do is add metals to the water and turn blonde hair green. Chlorine, and chlorine alone, is all that's needed for proper water sanitation.
