I want to install a Hayward through wall skimmer and have read all about the installation and sounds pretty easy. Here's my question - what do I do with the existing outlet that my over the wall skimmer connects to? Do I (somehow) close this off - or do I also plumb it into the new skimmer line (or pump?)? My pool is a 15 x 48 Intex above ground metal frame pool (with the blue liner) and the fittings in the liner are rubber hose type (not sure what to call them), but not hard lines (PVC).

Welcome to TFP!!!I would imagine that some people turn it into a second return jet.
Interesting - never thought of that. So, then I would need to do a Y for my Salt Generator for this to occur and it is way on the other side - I think the original return is (maybe) 3 wall sections away. Not sure if that will work. I will need to look at that - but maybe. Thanks
