Coleman ABG Pump with Timer

Hello, We recently purchased the 16 x 48 Coleman metal frame above ground pool It came with a 1500 pump. When I plug it into the outlet, i have to hit the red reset button on the plug to turn it on, and when I unplug it, the reset button clicks off, so I had to hit it again when I plug it back in. Seeing as this is the case, I am wondering if this will cause it not to work properly if I plug it into a timer. Does that seem correct?Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Am I better off getting a pump with a built in timer, or on/off switch? Or is there someway I can make this work? Thanks in advance-Brandon

I had that problem when mine was on a timer. But my entire circuit was already GFCI protected at the house, so I just removed the GFCI from the cord on the pump and attached a regular plug.
