    My first SLAM

Started on Saturday afternoon, but here's today's numbers:

    CYA = 35
    FC Goal = 14

    7:30 AM, FC = 11.5
    Add 90 oz. Bleach

    8:00 AM, FC = 20

    8:45 AM, FC = 17

Major vacuuming and scrubbing done in this time period, floor was pretty dirty.

    11:30 AM, FC =9
    Add 100 oz. Bleach

    12:30, FC = 17

    1:30, FC =12
    Add 50 oz. Bleach

    2:30, FC = 16

    4:00, FC = 15

    5:45, FC = 13.5
    Add 10 oz. Bleach

That's where I'm at! Only dropped 2.5 in almost 3 and a half hours, and that's on a pretty sunny day. How long do I have to keep it around the goal of 14 before I can do the OCLT? Am I close enough already? Or should I try to maintain another day?

The OCLT is to prove to yourself you have finished the SLAM.

I would not waste time messing with the OCLT until the other two criteria were met..

    1. Your pool water is sparkling and there is no visible algae (dead or alive)
    2. Your CC's are .5ppm or less

    Do you meet those criteria?

I actually am not seeing anymore algae. Keep having pesky pine needles pop up that I thought I already got all of, but algae is looking good. CCs have been at zero. I guess I don't know if I'd classify the water as "sparkling" yet, but it's definitely clear. Night and day compared to how it looked 2 days ago.

Then I would say you are ready to perform the OCLT.
