Bees and pool chemistry

I noticed something interesting. Our neighbor behind us has a bee hive in the wall of their house:-(

We have a saltwater pool and the bees were inundating our newly filled pool to a point that you wouldn't want to get in. The salt didn't bother them. I waited a couple of days to go get some CYA, but I did notice that once the cya was added, the bees quit coming to it.

That is interesting. We had a beehive in a rock retaining wall near the pool last summer and the bees did not bother us much at all.
