Choosing new pump for AG cartridge filter

Hello!
My pump died, it was a 2 hp 2 speed. For my 15 X 30 above ground pool I'm discovering that was big and being told that 2 speeds are not common or necessary.

My question:

1 or 1.5 horsepower? Isn't it better to have a little more power ?

And 1 or 2 speed? I didn't use high too often but it was a nice option. Looking back it's funny that I vacuumed the pool with it on high a few times. The brush head kept suctioning to the wall/floor and I could barely get it off. LOL

Also I read on here a bad review of Haywood. Thoughts on brands?

Are you looking for a pump or a pump/filter combo?
I would certainly stick with a 2-speed, but you only need a 1HP ... many members like the Power-flo Matrix.

Any of the major brands are fine ... Hayward, Pentair, Jandy, etc
