compare EcoPump Ultra vs. Hayward SP3400vsp

We are about to build 7'x28' (app 5' depth) lap pool in Mexico and interested in any input on EcoPump Ultra vs. Hayward SP3400vsp. Electricity usage (very expensive here) and sound level are major factors for us. We also note it appears that the Hayward SP3400vsp is "discontinued." Anyone confirm this is true and if so, why?
