New pool owner

I am a new pool owner and am having trouble with water balance. I have a SWG and my copper ions are too high, chlorine too low, Ph too low and alkalinity too high. What do I do to get it to balance. Should I run a boost cycle or add chemicals to get it balanced?

TFP does not advocate use of copper in pools. Copper levels above 0.3ppm will cause staining and turn hair green. More info here: Pool School - Metals in the Water and Metal Stains

I didn't use copper in the pool. I have a saltwater filter system and the only thing I have added to the water is salt.

Stacey you will need to get a good test kit.

We have found that the stick tests are far from accurate.

We can help you get your pool balanced and clear! You have to help us help you by getting a good test kit.
