    DE ?

    Good morning,

    Is this the right stuff?

Amazon.com : Robelle 4024 D.E./Diatomaceous Earth Powder for Swimming Pools, 24-Pound : Pool Supplies Chemicals : Home Improvement

Does anyone know where I can purchase the right stuff but in smaller quantities?

    Thank you,
    Mike

Yes, it is DE for pools. No, I do not know where you can buy smaller bags, but I know they exist.

    Re: DE ?

Smallest I could find was a 20 lb. box of the stuff. Should last me til retirement as it's just a filter enhancement 2-3 times a summer when I backwash my sand filter.

Although I hate that Clorox is branding every pool chemical and supply under the sun, here's a slightly smaller and cheaper one. Amazon.com : CLOROX Pool Garden

You could try cellulose instead. Amazon

Help me DE to sand filter

Split by moderator from HERE. jblizzle

I'm doing this today. Pump 1 and 3 have skimmer baskets at the water line. #2 doesn't; it flows from the bottom drain. Any suggestions for adding DE 11 feet down?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Re: DE ?

    Why are you doing this?

I would just add it to the 2 pumps that have the skimmers ( I assume they each have their own sand filter?) and forget about the other pump.
