Here’s a Christmas story of sorts from my house for your (possible) entertainment …

The 9-year old woke up with this morning and said, “Daddy, I saw Santa Claus last night when I got up to go to the bathroom!”

With fears of being busted in my head, I thought carefully and quickly and came up with, “Are you sure?”

Yeah, I know, great recovery. Anyway, he replied, “Well, I kept my eyes closed so he wouldn’t leave, but I’m pretty sure he was behind the tree!”

Daddy, “Did you keep your eyes closed the whole time?”

“Yessir!”

“Go dry up the bathroom floor.”

Son thinks for a moment, slinks off to the bathroom, returns a few minutes later and says, “Daddy, how did you know I missed?”

“Son, Daddy knows everything. Don’t tell Mommy about the bathroom floor.”

This is so much fun, but it’s also a little sad that we’re soon going to be past these days.
