Been keeping my ph @7.2 since I did a AA treatment two weeks ago. Is that too low? I was thinking if I went higher the stains would come back ( they came back some but not like before test). Any thoughts?

In a fiberglass pool, that pH should be fine, although a little lower than I might want it for comfort.
Maybe I should bump up a little? I mean am I correct to think a higher ph could have adverse effects on metal stains?
I think you would have the raise the pH a good bit before it would become a problem.
Don't get too carried away with needing to keep it at 7.4 though. If it goes to 7.8 and stays there for long periods, don't be in a rush to drop it down right away. Eventually it will hit a happy place for pH and TA and you'll have to add less acid over time. If you obsess about keeping it 7.2, 7.4 your TA may get too low and you'll end up adding baking soda and more pH rise again.
