Heat Pump Reliability.....Raypack vs Pentair

Very soon we are looking to add a Heat Pump to the pool and are now tossed between a Raypack or Pentair. At first we were going to go with a Raypack due to their reputation on the forum as being rock solid, however the installer is able to give us a MUCH better price for a Pentair and a longer warrantee on this unit as well. While the installer is preparing a price for each, I'd like to ask if there's a large difference between the reliability of these two heat pumps?

What is the warranty the installer is telling you about on the Pentair?

Only that he's able to offer a three year warrantee on the Pentair unit compared to a one year on the Raypack heat pump.

Just a word of caution, some places provide extra warranty that is not part of the manufacturers so it really comes down to them honoring it if and when something goes wrong. Where as a warranty thru the manufacturer, you can go to them and find a repair person.
