    Hi Troyboy,

    Welcome to TFP!

    A SLAM is Shock Level and Maintain. Its how we rid the pool of algae. It isnt a 1 time thing, its a process of keeping the chlorine level elevated until all of the algae is deal and the pool is sparkling clear.

    Welcome TB! Feel free to ask all the questions you need. Most of the initial information you may have questions about can be found in the links Tim or I provide in our signatures. Speaking of which ....

    Also, please add your pool info to your signature by going to the top of the TFP web page (just under the Pool School button) and select "SETTINGS". On the next page look to the left for a menu bar that says, “MY SETTINGS” and go to "EDIT SIGNATURE" to enter your pool and equipment info there. It will help us later. Glad to have you with us.
