It is our general opinion here that UV systems do not provide much if any benefit to typical outdoor residential pools as most residential pools get more than enough UV exposure from sunlight to break down CC compounds, and added UV from these systems has no additional benefit in properly chlorinated pools, in fact they do have the side effect of increasing chlorine usage in a properly balanced pool. This is not to say that UV systems do not have a place, they can be a great benefit in situations where supplemental oxidation is needed, such as commercial therapy pools, indoor pools, stand alone spa's, etc.
