Sand filter nightmare

We recently replaced our de filter with a triton ii tr100 filter. I am having the following problems:
1. Filter clogs up way too fast when vacuuming
2. Dirt particles are returning too the pool when vacuuming.

I have already replaced the sand with zeobrite and removed the sand 3 times and inspected the filter laterals and piping and have found nothing broken. Keep in mind this filter is very big and shouldn't get clogged this fast. The pressure climbs from 11 to 20 psi with a little vacuuming. I cant think of anything more too do. Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you have a sand filter doing exactly what it is supposed to do.....remove debris from your water.

The problem is your water and probably your water chemistry.

What does your water look like? Can you post test results?

EDIT: Did you rinse the zeobreite like they want you to?

Keep in mind i have been having this problem for 2 years now. The water is as follows 4.0 chlorine ph 7 alk 9 calcium 14. My pool is maybe 15k gallons and the filter is oversized. I just dont think it is normal to clog up this fast.
