    CYA/Ammonia

quick question, not that im interested in doing it. but we see accounts of pools with ammonia and that it consumes CYA, and after winter closing people come back to a pool with 0 CYA. would there be an effect on the pool to adding a high amount of ammonia to the pool to reduce CYA?

No, the ammonia is a byproduct of the CYA consumption, not the cause.

    Re: CYA/Ammonia

See the thread Degradation of Cyanuric Acid (CYA) that explains how bacteria can degrade CYA into ammonia and then, if one is lucky, different bacteria further convert ammonia into nitrogen gas.
