Reducing CYA Patent

The patent application you linked to is NOT about the BiOWiSH Bio-Active CYA Reducer product. Instead it is about using melamine to precipitate melamine cyanurate. There used to be a product that used this technique, but it generally created a cloudy mess in the pool because melamine cyanurate is partly soluble so the melamine that hangs around would precipitate with CYA as the CYA rose and have the pool be cloudy. It was also pH dependent where a lower pH would precipitate more. The product is no longer sold, as far as I know.

This patent application is the one for the BiOWiSH Bio-Active CYA Reducer that has generally poor results.
