Advice on CYA level and chlorine loss during the day

So I've been using the TFP method for sveral weeks now and my pool is crystal clear. I already did a SLAM and the OCLT is 1ppm or less. My CYA level is 30-35 and I lose 3-4ppm of chlorine everyday with the solar cover on. Should I increase my CYA level or leave it alone. I'm new to this and adding 40-65oz of bleach a day seems like a lot.

    Thanks!

    Latest results:
    CYA 30-35
FC 4 (maintaining this level everyday)

    Solar cover on

That seems like excessive FC loss especially having a cover on the pool.

I would try raising the CYA some.

Looks like you could raise the CYA slightly. You have about 15 to play with in your recommended levels window. I just did the same here to save on FC loss. Start easy though so you don't over-shoot 50. A little increase in CYA should tell you if it's working. More advise perhaps to follow. Overall though - great numbers!

I thought that was excessive myself. The cartridge filter is brand new and there is no organic debris in the pool. Should I pump the CYA up to 45-50? What else could contribute to the loss?

FC is only lost to the sun and stuff in the water.

The pool gets a lot of direct sun during the day. I'll bump up the CYA a little bit and retest.
