Filter pump conversion

So I finally got all the stuff that I need to convert my summer escape pump to the intex krystal clear 2800 sand filter..apparently my genius husband and father put wood planks across the pool to keep the pool cover from sinking it worked but no one mentioned the wood planks had paint on them so now my pool has paint clippings all in it..we are in the process of just draining the whole pool there's no way I can clean this..so far we grinded the bottom of the skimmer basket .

The bottom of the pool is a mess I don't even know how I'm going to get this all cleaned I'm thinking going in there with a set vac and vacuum all the stuff out

Pool is clean. We finished cutting the bottom of the skimmer and the strainer and plunger looks good so far no leaks

How did you clean it

We took down a couple of uprights and used a broom and a hose to get most of it outta there. I've seen some people use big plastic shovels to scoop it out.

Did the same thing at first we used a wet vac but that was taking to long
