vacation: leaving pump running, turn off skimmer?

I've been using BBB with great success for three years.

Going on vacation, don't want to inconvenience anyone to check my skimmer basket every other day.

If I just turned the skimmer suction off, leaving only the main drain suction, would that be ok?

My concern is an overloaded skimmer basket while I'm gone for 7 days. Chlorine will be fine....bumping it up to 20, then putting three 8 oz trichlor tabs in the in line chlorinator.

When I go on vacation, I leave all the valves in the same position as I do when I'm here, including the skimmers. I've done it this way several times with no problems.

Do you typically get large amounts of debris in your skimmers this time of year?
