So happy to say we got word this week from our pb that they'll be starting on our pool next week !!!
We have a large tanning deck in the shallow end and a 5' bench with swim out ( not even sure what that is) in the deep (5') end. Wonder if we need a railing ? We are in good physical shape but we are in our 60's.
I just don't see much mentioned about railings.

A swim out is like a bench, used to make it easier to get out of the pool. But, more importantly, I use them to sit on and sip a cool beverage. Kids use them as home base to store ball and missiles, rest, jump from, etc. Railings have taken a downward trend jn popularity the last quite a few years. Steps from the shallow end are much easier to exit the pool. A raised water feature or planter adjacent to the steps makes a nice place to hold onto. There is a recent thread with a lot of nice pool stair designs.
