My Triton sand filter has a side mount multiport valve. Is it OK to place the valve on "CLOSE", then remove top from the filter and use a garden hose to wash the sand? The sticky about deep cleaning says to isolate the filter from the pool plumbing, so should I remove the valve? I see no reason to remove it, because closing the valve in effect isolates the filter from the pool plumbing.
