Hi All

Very happy to join this community.

We are first time pool owners. We contracted with a pool company last fall to install an inground salt water pool for us, that we are presently trying to open. No surprise here, but it has been tough to get the pool company back in the spring to finish the job.

Having had no training to date, my wife and I have been figuring things out on the fly. We have a unique set up (as most people do) in that we have two pumps - one solar PV direct and one standard Tristar 1/2 hp pump.

The latest issue, which after searching on the Internet for a cause/solution for (including stumbling on TFP) is that the Tristar pump does not seem to fully prime itself, however we are not getting air bubbles out of the jets. There is about 1 inch of headspace....

We have notified the pool company but surprise surprise, they have not responded to our concerns. We don't know if we are causing any damage, and the pressure in the sand filter seems fine...is this something to be concerned with?

Cheers
Tom
