Initial fill - soft water or hard water?

We have a water softener and was wondering if we should use any soft water (perhaps a combination of hard and soft) in filling the pool. We have a TFP Test kit and our CH was 25 with soft water and 125 with hard water.

Any other information I need to make a decision?

p.s Our fill is scheduled for tomorrow.

Use the Hard water. At 125 ppm, it is actually quite soft compared to other areas of the region. You are fortunate to have it.

Wow, your hard water is about half as hard as mine.

No need to use the soft water. Most water softeners are only able to treat a few hundred gallons before needing to regenerate. Trying to fill a pool with one can be a challenge to say the least.
