Aloha everyone. We just got the pool installed and and still waiting on the deck to be poured. The weather here in Texas has been anything but cooperative. It's going on 2 months for the install. We've had about 10" of rain so it's been delay after delay. So, the children are ready to start enjoying the pool and I can't wait to get my yard cleaned up of all the dirt piles. I thank you and look forward to learning a little more about pool ownership. Cary

While you're waiting, go dive in to the Pool School articles up in the link on the top right of this web site. Lots of things you need to know (plus others you don't but it is helpful to be familiar with the terms) and get your self your own recommended pool test kit now. Take the time to get some practice in so you'll be ready to go!
I recommend the TF-100 cause its the best value. The Speed Stir device makes testing simpler.

Hey, can I use the same salt I use for my water softener in my pool. Diamond crystal solar naturals. if not,why? and if I already did will it hurt anything>?

As long as it doesn't have any extra additives, that's fine to use.
