Position of Jets

Looking for some insight on the correct positioning of the water return jets. Initially, i saw some information somewhere that the jets should be angled 45 degrees down. Last year, a pool guy told me that they should be pointing 45 degrees counter clockwise in order to help move the water around the pool and by the skimmer.

You generally want to create a circular flow so debris will move to the skimmer. You also want then point down a little to mix at depth.
