'Bumping' a DE Filter

I remember reading about the sequence and time for 'bumping' a DE filter - it was something like backwash until clear, rinse for so long, maybe filter for so long, and repeat 3-4 times. I searched TFP and Google, but I cannot fine where I saw this. Does anybody have the recommended sequence?

You do not "bump" your type of DE filter.
