There are a couple of spots that have a black discoloration, they are raised bumps that are not easily pushed down. These are fiberglass steps that are about 20 years old. The spots look terrible with the black discoloration that streaks away. Should I leave them alone, is a defect in the steps that will get worse, can I do something to stop that??? Thanks.

Here are some photos. I posted them into my google account which I don't use very much so let me know if they don't work.

You don't get to see it clearly but the black seems to be coming from the raised kinda bubble in the fiberglass. There does not seem to be any kind of open wound either, just a raised bubble and the black.
Thanks again.
