Filter Selection

Hello All!

I am hoping I can get some help selecting a new pool filter.

I have an 18x36 inground pool, that goes 3" to 8" - maybe around 26,000 gallons. I currently have a Nautilus Pacfab DE Filter, with 1.5" plumbing. It is 36SF, 50 Max PSI, 5.5lbs of DE-- the filter is probably 20 years old! It is in need of replacement.

I recently replaced the pump, which has 1.5" plumbing, and I am looking to replace the filter and valve.

I looked at the Hayward DE3620 (says 2" piping inside of the filter), with the SP0710XR50 Valve (1.5") , can anyone tell me if this would be a good fit? I am trying to not break the bank, since I live in NY and maybe get 3 months of pool use each year. If this is not a good fit, please guide me in the right direction.

Thanks :)
