Bestway Sand Filter Low PSI and Low

Just purchased a Bestway 18x9x48 above ground pool from costco with a sand filter this past weekend. I followed all the backwash and rinsing instructions. When the Control valve is set to circulate the pressure is at 6ps with a good amount of flow going to the pool. When the control valve is set to filter the pressure is 1psi or less and the flow is very low. I removed all the sand and cleaned the Screen then reassemble without adding any sand. The psi is still low and so is the flow. Does anyone have any suggestions what I should do?

That is odd. I would look to make sure there is nothing wrong inside the control valve.

I was hoping this was something common and I missed it searching TFP I will take a look at the control valve.

Control valve looks good. No blockages. I emailed Bestway but I bet the response will be just as good as the instruction manual.

Got it working!! Thanks again everyone. The control valve is defective. I have to pull up on the control lever to get the water to flow but with a cardboard wedge I can filter the pool until a new one arrives from Bestway.
