    opening time - water replacement

    Hello everyone!

Time to open is nearing and last season I closed with the following results:

    CYA 50
    TA 70
    pH 7.4
    CH 790
    TEMP 58F
    FC 10
    CC 0

I would like to change some water at opening to bring down the CH.

Does anyone know if you need a permit to do so in Los Angeles, CA area especially due to the drought?

    Thanks!

    No idea, but welcome back!

We have some CA pool owners here, so hopefully they will weigh in.

    Hello Suley,
You can run your pool with CH that high. You'll just have to control/run lower your PH.

Thanks! But the water was tasting a bit salty last year too.
Anything I can do to reduce the taste?
