Liner Issue - Bump/Protrusion

I just opened my pool and I noticed a protrusion in the liner of my pool. I had this liner installed within the last 3 years. The protrusion is on the bottom of the pool on the angle down to the deep end. I didn't really notice it in the past, so I think this may be new. It looks to be about 2-4 inches wide, but I haven't gone in yet to inspect further.

I am not really sure what it could be since this is a concrete bottom. I poked at it with my pool brush and it seemed pretty solid. I dont have any nearby trees that would be causing the issue with roots. When the company installed this liner they did some concrete work, nothing major but I think it was just to make it smoother for the liner.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I am afraid whatever it is is going to bust thru the liner.

Could it be a root from a nearby tree?

There are trees in the lot next door but this bump is on the side closest to house so I doubt that's the issue. It would have to go all the wayunderneath the pool and pop out on other side. And even then the tree is pretty far away from the pool

No idea then, sink holes are far more common under vinyl liners

thanks for the input Isaac, I am hoping whatever it is miraculously goes away. I am afraid its going to poke thru my liner and if that happens there is no way I will be able to replace it again.

If it does poke through then maybe you can see what it is / remove it then patch the liner.

So you can patch an area that big, like 3inches around? I have never had to patch before so curious if that would be a legitimate option. Just trying to alleviate any unnessecary stress because the last liner set me back quite a bit!

Hi everyone, popped off the pool cover today and noticed some more of the tennis ball shaped bulges. What the heck could be causing these? The liner is only a few years old. The last one was like 12 years old and there were no bulges at all. Definitely not an issue with roots here. I am so confused!

Too cold to get in and feel it? (I'm guessing it is, but that may be the only way to know for sure wheat it feels like.)

A couple of them were there last year, they are rock hard. Definitely too cold right now!
