rattle noise in new pump

Hello
Installed a new star rite pump today. When we turn it on, it sounds like a nut or bolt is banging around. The noise stopped when we back wash, and also there is no noise when the motor is on, and not pump. Does anyone have any ideas?

What do you mean by the motor is on, but not the pump?
