Intex pool to Hayward sand filter

I too bought an Intex pool (26' no skimmer) and am wondering if I can hook up a Hayward sand filter with a 1hp pump? Will the 1 hp pump be sufficient for a 26' pool?
Hello All, I just bought a 26' intex pool (has no skimmer) and I am wondering if I can hook up a Hayward sand filter and a Hayward 1 hp pump? Will a 1 hp pump be sufficient for a pool that size? I noticed that the valves on the pool have a screw in mechanism and am not sure if there is any type of adaptors out there. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, 1 hp pump is plenty.
