How to install a new pressure gauge?

Hi, I was hoping you guys could tell me how to install a new pressure gauge for my filter. I've researched online and saw that many instructions say to use Teflon tape when installing a new pressure gauge, however the lady at the pool stop told me to just basically screw it on and should be fine. Is it okay if I don't use teflon tape?

Teflon tape would be better. You can try it without and see if it leaks. Did you get a good glycerine filled gauge?

Expect to be replacing it in 1-2 years, also teflon tape would help keep it from leaking, a 10 ft roll is usually under $1

Another vote for using teflon tape. In addition to leak protection, it will make it easier to get the gauge off when it comes time to replace it.
