Solar cover, should i remove it everyday?

Some people say i should remove it everyday, let the sun hit the water's surface directly.

    Some people say the oposite.

I would like to have the feed-back of TFP's communauty on this subject

I remove mine during the day on hot days. I put it back on at night. During the summer I leave it rolled up the whole season.

Re: Solar cover, should i remove it everyday?

I never remove the cover unless someone is swimming and even then sometimes only half the cover. Based upon a heat transfer simulation, I found that I would lose more heat by taking the cover off everyday. The heat lost without the cover due to evaporation, even during the day, is far more than the heat gained without the cover.

Much to the chagrin of those selected to assist me. I unroll it in the morning and roll it up every night.

Mine is not on right now, but if it was, I would remove it everyday so my daughter can swim.
