Got some odd results and cannot explain them so over to the experts...
New plaster pool being started up over last 2 weeks.
Checked this morning:
FC 2
pH 7.7
TA 30
CH 325
CYA 0

Added 64 oz Mutiatic Acid to start bringing up CYA
Left it for a couple of hours

pH 6.8
CYA as near to 0 as I can tell.

I filled to bottom of label, added R-0012 to top of label, shook for 30 sec or more.
Slowly filled cylinder and I can still clearly see the black dot.
Left it for a few minutes, still visible.
Very little precipitate.

The pH swing shows that the acid is there, but not showing up in CYA test.

Could my R-0012 be bad, new kit and I have not got a reading with it yet?

I'm obviously heading off to get some Borax to raise the pH to a more reasonable level.
