Calcium Hardness and Pool Heaters

OK i'm buying a Propane Pool heater. I currently have vinyl pool and thought i don't need any CH because i don't have plaster anything.

Does a copper or cupper nickle exchanger require a certain level of CH?

No, the heat exchanger isn't at any risk at all from low CH levels.

On the other hand, there is some chance that low CH could cause problems with getting them to honor the heaters warranty coverage, should that come up.
