    Up grading pool pump question!

I'm basically a newbie with pools (3rd year), I currently have an Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump ( 0 hp), I would like to put in a gas heater for the pool not able to due to the small pump on sand filter. My question is, can I update to a bigger pump(1 hp) with the existing sand filter?

    Thanks in advance!

You should be able to just swap out the pump.
