Backwash works, but filter mode does not.

Just opened the pool. I have the correct pressure on the filter meter when using the backwash setting on the multiport. When I switch to the filter setting, I get no pressure and no output from the pool returns. I removed the return winterizing plugs. It makes a gurgling sound from the pump when I shut the system off, but I didn't think I have a suction problem because it works fine in the backwash setting. Any ideas?

Are there any valves on the individual return pipes that might be closed and need to be opened?

Thanks, just had to let it run for a couple minutes. Then everything started working as it should.
